'Lighting the fires of our future'
As part of our learning about ourselves and our senses, Robins and Ducklings tasted a variety of healthy fruit. We talked about how fruit can be part of a healthy diet, and lots of children suggested ideas about why it is good for you. We also discussed its appearance and texture. The kiwi fruit caused some interest, with several children describing the texture as ‘hairy!’ The children tasted a variety of fruit, including oranges, apples, bananas and kiwi. The final piece of fruit to taste was a lemon. That explains the interesting range of expressions to be seen in some of the photographs! Several children said they really like the taste of it, and ate all of it (but not the skin)!
