A tasty Shrove Tuesday

Robins and Ducklings were very busy making pancakes to celebrate Shrove Tuesday. The children went through the various stages of mixing the ingredients, cooking the mixture and finally (the best stage of all) eating what they had created. Toppings were simple, with a choice of sugar, lemon juice or both - or plain! Many of the Robins had understood quite well what had happened once the ingredients were mixed, and several understood that once the ingredients were mixed and cooked they couldn't be returned to how they started - even though they were still in the pancake; superb scientific understanding! Above all else, the eating was the best part, with lots of empty plates! Well done, Robins and Ducklings!
