Dear Parents and Carers
You will immediately have noticed that our Newsletter looks a bit different this week! Following feedback from parents who were struggling to read the Newsletter on their mobile phones, we have invested in this software that comes as an add-on to our Website. We hope you are able to access this new format much more easily on your devices. Do give us feedback on this, so we know it is working well or if we could make further improvements.
This is of course the end of a magical festive season in school and the beginning of what we all hope will be a wonderful Christmas for all of the Manor family over the next two weeks. This week has seen the usual craziness and excitement of performances, discos, parties, visits out and of course the visit of the man himself. It was all rounded off with the wonderful carol service.
Staff have been overwhelmed by the generosity of parents and children and wanted me to pass on their thanks to all who have sent cards and given gifts. No staff expect anything for doing their jobs, and in fact would not be allowed to accept gifts of any significant value, but the written messages, verbal thanks and good wishes and small tokens of appreciation are certainly valued and help to make their efforts worthwhile. Thank you.
This term has also seen the launch of our fabulous new PTA who have been very active selling hot drinks, organising a raffle and events for the children such as the disco and film night. They were all new to this at the start of the year but have become a well oiled machine, adding to the fabric of life at Manor and making money (Well over £800 from this half-term so far!) for the school that we will soon be looking to spend on enhancing the quality of what the children receive from their time at our school. Thank you to all who have helped so far.
We said a fond farewell to Mrs Rogers today, but we will soon see her again as she is still part of our Fierté family of schools and we may use her for supply cover occasionally if she is available!
The following is a message from Mrs Maria Hamblin, the CEO of Fierté MAT:
Dear Parents and Carers,
I hope that you are looking forward to Christmas and spending time with cherished ones. Our children across the Trust have enjoyed their nativities, discos, parties and all that Christmas in school has to offer. Here are a few Autumn updates.
Garden Village Primary Academy
You will no doubt be aware that our new school in Tamworth has already started to be constructed. A Project Team are securing excellence in staffing, resources, and the intended curriculum for our brand-new school. Thank you to Executive Leaders and Central Support Staff for ensuring that every deadline has not only been met, but in many areas already exceeding expected dates and timings.
Parental engagement
Working together to support our children remains a priority and the way in which parents work with staff across all roles remains a fundamental to every child’s success. The relationships we strive for, must be built on mutual respect, equality, and a willingness to give. Please therefore, continue to treat our staff in the way in which you would wish to be treated yourself. They appreciate the many parents who demonstrate this day in day out with kindness and thoughtfulness towards our hard-working staff.
Chair of the Trust Board
We are delighted to welcome a new Chair of the Trust Board, Mrs. Zoe Insley. She has already dedicated many hours as a Trustee but has now taken the reins as Chair. Zoe has considerable expertise in business and organisational leadership. She has many attributes that will ensure that as a family of schools we are supported to secure the highest outcomes for our children.
Finally…
Thank you to our beautiful children. They make our jobs such a joy and privilege and we never forget that it is for their benefit that we give our best endeavours. We look forward to seeing them on their return.
Wishing each and every one of you a peaceful, perfect Christmas.
